Moco Museum and Studio Irma take us to the digital world
Moco Museum in partnership with Studio Irma show the issues of living connected. A great Amsterdam art museum trying to generate a positive change. We live in a connected world. It is impossible to imagine life without the Internet. And even if we try, we would be filled with fear. That’s why the Moco Museum and Studio Irma teamed up to create a show that reminds us how immersed we are in our digital vices. It is called “Reflecting Forward: In Search of Connectivism” and is the only Amsterdam art museum to show an exhibition of this kind. Its central idea is based on projecting into people digital spaces full of emotions and constantly changing. It is a creative way of trying to illustrate how we would be if we could enter into the digital world we use every day. The Moco Museum seeks to highlight that it is necessary to disconnect from time to time in order to keep our identity as human beings.
This exhibition is composed of 4 works of art
“Reflecting Forward” presents four spaces, designed to engage its visitors, where people can come into contact with a series of digital sensations that change throughout the exhibition. “Diamond Matrix” was created with the intention to demonstrate that each of us is a diamond that has the potential to shine with its own light. As diamonds, when we get under great pressure, we do our best to shine. In “Kaleidoscope” psychedelic colors take you on a journey to your most creative side. In “We all live in bubbles” we remember that, although each of us is a unique and special being, we are part of a larger whole that we must respect. Finally in “Connect The Dots & Universe” we realize that the universe is connected by dots and we are an important part of it.
A unique Amsterdam art museum
The Moco Museum has always proven to be at the forefront in showing exhibitions that have a positive impact on its visitors. It’s not just about admiring a good piece of art. Every piece of art has to be able to convey something that makes you better. There is no other Amsterdam art museum that offers this kind of works as the Moco Museum does. On your next visit to Amsterdam remember to be part of the extensive list of visitors who tour the facilities of this great museum every year. It is a journey that will take you through fun corners, but above all, you will discover new ways of facing life. That is the power of art. The power to change people, and with that, the world.
